PTC/USER Organizational Information
What is PTC/USER?
PTC/USER is the independent voice for users of software produced by PTC of Needham, Massachusetts. PTC/USER is the sole entity recognized by PTC as the official worldwide representative of its customers.
Is PTC/USER part of PTC?
No. We are an independent, not-for-profit corporation, organized by volunteers from companies owning PTC products.
What is PTC/USER's mission?
PTC/USER has a two-fold mission:
- To provide education and communication services for its members;
- To act as a unified voice representing the membership to Parametric Technology Corporation.
What are the Technical Committees?
We also sponsor Technical Committees (TCs). The committees are composed of volunteers from the membership, who work closely with PTC's Product Managers (PLMs) to direct future software development. This has been a very successful program, with approximately 80% of member suggestions appearing as product enhancements. Committees meet several times each year, including at least one meeting in Boston to facilitate interaction with PTC's development staff.
Does PTC/USER have local groups?
There are approximately 70 regional user groups worldwide associated with PTC/USER. These independent organizations create the opportunity for Pro/ENGINEER users in a city or region to meet with each other and exchange information. Many groups conduct meetings with formats similar to the PTC/USER International Conference (presentations, breakouts, exhibit hall, etc.) but on a smaller scale.
How do members communicate?
In addition to meetings and conferences, PTC/USER operates an extensive network of discussion forums over the Internet. These forums utlize web and e-mail software to allow members and non-members alike to share news and technical information.
Who can join PTC/USER?
Anyone who owns, or works for a company that owns, at least one seat of a PTC product may join.
